As hard as it is to believe, it’s already been 18 months since the arrival of the pocket bully puppies from the 1st ever 2X Venom breeding. And, with the repeat of Venom and La Dolce Vita confirmed and due in less than three weeks, we thought that our readers might like to see some updated photos of the puppies from each litter to view their progression as they approach maturity.
In addition to the 1st 2X Venom litter, we’ll also be providing an update on Venom’s litters with Khaleesi, Vita and Swizz. The puppies from these three breedings are all aged between 10-12 months now. In this article, we’ll take a look back at the puppies from each litter, from birth to adults to show their progression and the consistency of each of the breedings.
HOW DO THE PUPPIES FROM A LITTER LOOK LIKE NOW AS ADULTS?
Most breeders are quick to show off their litters as puppies, we see cute, thick pups shared on Facebook, Instagram and some of the other social media sites daily. But oftentimes we are left to wonder “did they turn out?” or “what do they look like now?” But rarely do we get to see the end result.
The bottom line: all puppies are cute. The true measure of a breeder is found by looking at adult productions. We’re not talking about one or two dogs from a litter that turned out nice, either. Producing one or two quality dogs out of a litter isn’t too difficult.
But what about the later picks from the breeding? How do they look now as adults? Oftentimes these later picks are kept hidden, while the few that turned out to be very nice as adults are shown.
TRULY CONSISTENT LITTERS
Most breeders don not want the majority of their litters seen as adults. Especially the last picks. Truly consistent breedings on the other hand, are breedings where puppies that were last, or later picks from the litter that could easily be confused with some of the higher or top picks when they reach adulthood.
These are the breedings that impress, and in my opinion, should be the goal of every breeder. Litters that are consistent all the way through. Here’s an example of what I mean. Below are the pups produced in the Venom X Moana litter pictured at 12-15 months old.
This breeding (Venom X Moana) was the 1st ever 2X Venom litter, meaning that this was an inbreeding where Moana- one of Venom’s daughters was bred back to him.
INBREEDING
Inbreeding is often a term that doesn’t sit well with people, and understandably so. But, in dogs the fact is this- the best examples in almost every breed have been the direct result of either inbreeding or line breeding.
Breeders inbreed all of the time, but very few are aware of the upside and risks associated with inbreeding or line breeding too closely for that matter. There are positives and negatives to these types of breedings that must be taken into account.
THE RISKS INVOLVED
The upside is that an inbreeding “sets traits.” The downside, or the risk involved is that while the breeding sets traits, you’re also doubling up on negative or recessive traits that as a breeder, you may not even have known existed in your dogs or line.
Often times, because theses are often recessive traits they aren’t seen. But this doesn’t mean they’re not there. Many American Bully breeders decide to carry out an inbreeding without doing the proper genetic testing or having any understanding of the risks involved.
On a typical inbreeding, and you’ll see these posted on social media sites all of the time… Lets say for an example on a litter of eight on a Father/Daughter inbreeding: Four of the puppies from that litter are probably damn near clones of the Sire due to the doubling up of genes on the dog that’s in their twice. The remaining four puppies in the litter (again, this just an example of a typical inbreeding) could have issues.
DOUBLING UP ON TRAITS: BOTH POSITIVE & NEGATIVE
Remember, you’re not just doubling up on the positive, you’re also multiplying any negative. Unseen or recessive traits can come to light. So while half of the litter are near clones of the Sire, the other half may have doubled up on negative recessive, or hidden traits. These can include underbite, kinked tail, wry jaw, hydrocephalus, heart issues or murmurs and many more, the list could go on.
If the dog being used twice in the pedigree has any of these issues or is even a carrier of any of these issues (Remember on a Father/Daughter inbreeding the puppies produced in that litter will carry 75% of the Studs DNA) these negative traits (not just the positive) will often come to light.
Even after genetic and health testing and doing everything right, there is no guarantee that issues won’t be present. Genetics are tricky and many issues can still pop up.
UPSIDE VS DOWNSIDE
When done correctly, the upside to an inbreeding is that offspring that are as good as the Sire (possibly better) could be the result. The dogs produced in an inbred or tightly line bred litter (both male and female) should also have the ability to reproduce much more consistent liters than ones with a scatter bred pedigrees.
All of the studs on our yard are either inbred or tightly line bred to be able to produce the most consistent litters possible for our Customers. That’s just one of the reasons so many people choose our Studs and also the reason they return for repeat business.
A tightly bred dog will always outproduce a scatter bred one, no matter how good the scatter bred Stud looks.
Now that you have a better understanding as to why we made the decision to carry out this type of breeding after having extensive testing done, as well fully understanding the risk involved (ones that most breeders don’t pay attention to, or know exist) the time came for us to complete the breeding.
COEFFICIENT OF INBREEDING (COI)
COI stands for Coefficient of Inbreeding. Essentially, it measures the common ancestors of dam and sire, and indicates the probability of how genetically similar they are.
The Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) is a measure of the level of inbreeding of a dog. To be inbred, a dog must have one or more common ancestors on both sides of the pedigree. All dogs are inbreed to some degree (that is how breeds are formed), but they will vary in how many generations it takes before the common ancestors appear. Genes come in pairs – one from the sire and one from the dam. The COI is the probability that both genes at a locus were acquired from the same ancestor (one through the sire and one through the dam)
Lower COI values are considered “safer” and less likely to exhibit inherited disorders. However, when the problem gene is widespread in a breed, a dog with a low COI may be just as likely to have the disorder as one with a high COI.
It is important to know as much as possible about the dogs in the pedigree, regardless of their COI.
Let’s take a look at the result and offspring produced.
THE 1ST 2X VENOM LITTER (VENOM X MOANA) AS PUPPIES
The 1st 2X Venom litter turned out incredible. We did our homework, but to be perfectly honest- we were also very fortunate. Out of 7 puppies born, there wasn’t a single pup born with an issue. There wasn’t an underbite, kinked tail, heart murmur, health or genetic defect, there weren’t even any flaws.
Every one of the dogs produced in this litter from birth to now (18 months) all have clean bills of health.
Obviously producing a litter free of health or genetic issues normally isn’t any type of accomplishment, but when inbreeding it is. It’s highly unusual and speaks to the caliber of Venom as a Stud.
Because of the risks involved with inbreeding, these types of breedings should only be carried out for a very specific purpose, by experienced breeders and only after extensive genetic and health testing has been carried out.
These types of breedings (inbreeding) should not be done often either, if at all. Problems arise when breeders (without doing any research or testing) repeat these types of breedings without paying any attention to the COI.
More important than understanding the COI even, is a full understanding of the dogs’ pedigrees and any issues they may carry.
VENOM X MOANA OFFSPRING AT 12-15 MONTHS
One of the pups out of the litter Champion Lil Ting (above) is currently working towards her Grand Champion Title, while two of the others in the litter are close to becoming Champions. I would be willing to bet good money that with a little work and Shows attendance, the remaining 4 could earn Champion Titles as well.
But, not everyone’s goal is to Show their dogs or work toward titles. Many of our Customers are more than happy for them to just be a part of their families and that’s just fine by us.
Pictured below are littermates produced in the 1st 2X Venom litter between 12-16 months of age
There were also two additional extremely impressive females out of this litter: Roxy & Bierra. We’ll be sure to add them as well as soon as we’re sent high-quality photos of them from their owners.

ABOUT VENOMLINE
Venomline is known for producing some of the thickest american bully puppies and adults in the world, without sacrificing conformation or health. Our Pocket American Bullies are known for having massive heads, dense bone, broad chests, wide shoulders, short muzzles, and being packed rock solid with muscle on short & compact frames. We are proud to have produced multiple ABKC Pocket Champions.
When you take one of our dogs into your home, you become family. We are different than most kennels in the fact that we do not use a traditional kennel set up. Our dogs sleep in beds and are a part of our family, not kept locked up in kennels all day.
We pride ourselves in producing dogs that have “wow” factor along with great temperament and athleticism despite the heavy muscle/bone they carry.

TAKING THE STRESS OUT OF STUD SERVICE
Venomline is home to the best extreme build Pocket American Bully Studs and we provide Stud Service Worldwide. In the U.S. we have the Stud Collected and shipped Priority overnight so that it arrives on the day you need it. If you need help timing the breeding, we walk all of our Customers through the entire process: progesterone testing, types of AI’s, and the best ways to properly time a breeding.
We make the process easy and stress free.
REMEMBERING WHERE WE STARTED
At Venomline we remember what it was like when we first started. Paying for a well known Stud was a huge risk. We didn’t have a few grand to pay for a Stud and just “hope” that it worked out. But we still tried, and our female didn’t take.. This set our program and vision back over a year.
We paid a Stud Fee and our female didn’t take. Unfortunately it happens. But when we called about the repeat since she didn’t get pregnant, I was told that they do not offer repeats and that were basically “we shit out of luck.”
So we do things differently. If your female does not get pregnant we don’t just keep your money. This is just one of the many reasons so many of the top kennels choose Venomline when reserving a Stud for their program.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
NOT YOUR AVERAGE “BREEDER”
There’s not too much better than receiving a call from one of our Customers telling us “she took!” And that puppies are expected in about a month. It’s very exciting for Customers and it still is for us too. Occasionally breedings don’t take, it does happen. So what happens if you’ve paid for Stud Service only to find out 30 days later that she’s not pregnant?
What If My Female Doesn’t Take?
We will re-ship during your females next heat or you can use the Stud Credit towards a pup for sale or future breeding. If you choose to try again during next heat, you will not pay another Stud fee like many breeders would have you do. You just pay Fed Ex shipping and we will send again. We want you to succeed!
Will I Have Trouble Selling Pups I Don’t Plan on Keeping?
On top of covering unsuccessful attempts, we actually go many steps further. Since we know it can be difficult to sell a litter and get the prices you’re expecting.. and because we only breed to accepted Females- we will post your breeding on our social media outlets to help with sales.
Helping with Sales
We’re proud to Advertise our Studs going to a quality bitch. This will help you with sales, getting top dollar for your pups while growing your kennel’s following. Not to mention when using Venom, Omega, Rampage, Savage or King V (dogs that have huge followings)
This is just one of the many ways we go the extra mile for our customers. We have referrals available upon request and an entire group on Facebook where customers post and show off their Venom offspring.
Will I get a receipt with my Purchase?
Yes. You will receive a receipt for your records along with the Stud Contract stating everything we agree to carry out. This is for your protection as well as ours.
THE FEMALES OF VENOMLINE
Venomline females are known for being some of the “bulliest” and most Extreme females on the planet. But what separates us from many other breeders are the females used as part of our breeding program.
It’s simple to use a top Stud, anyone can do that… but at Venomline, we know that it takes both a Top level Stud and a Top Level bitch to produce quality litters on a consistent basis.
VENOMLINE’S SWIZZ
QUALITY FEMALES ARE INTEGRAL TO A BREEDING PROGRAM’S SUCCESS
Females are integral to the success of any breeding program. Without using quality females to pair with Top Studs, litters more than likely just end up being a watered down version of what was initially intended. Knowing this, our primary focus for the past 8 years has been to produce the best possible Pocket Bully Females to match up with our Top Tier Studs.
One thing that we never lost sight of as we added the dense bone, big blocky heads, muscular builds and Extreme features, is producing a complete dog. A lot of the “Extreme” American Bullies today, or at least many of the dogs being marketed as such.. are not what we would consider a complete American Bully.

THE FOUNDATION & NEXT GENERATION FEMALES OF VENOMLINE
It’s easy to add mass and Extreme features… what’s not easy is producing that on a complete bull. One with angulation along with a thick strong rear on a dog that may exhibit extreme traits but is still functional. If a dog can’t run and play, in our opinion.. that’s a failure. We aim to produce dogs that will not only stack with any dog that’s brave enough to stand next to them, but can also excel inside of the show ring.
There are not too many kennels that are currently combining the “wow factor” and extreme traits desired in the breed while also producing balanced dogs from head to rear that can still succeed in the show ring.
Here you’ll find Foundation Females that are linebred to produce.
The result can be seen in our productions.
