DEBATE-A-BULL/BARCROFT TV VIDEO RESPONSE
From Texas Size Bullies: The recent Barcroft Video “Venom the 500K bully” has gotten a lot of people talking, and a few people upset.. as I’m sure the media company that came up with the title intended. It has also caused people to place photos of their dog stacking next to pictures of Venom as a puppy and claiming they have a better bully. Most recently in the Debate-A-Bull group on Facebook.
So here are answers to some common questions about him, and a ton of pics & video (where he isn’t a puppy)
DO I THINK HE IS THE BEST BULLY IN THE WORLD OR BETTER THAN YOUR STUD?
Absolutely not. I think he’s special and has been in love with what he’s producing. but don’t worry about anyone else’s yard or productions, I’m too busy focusing on my own vision.
IS HE REALLY 12.5″?
He was wicked at an ABKC event and BBCR event and was a little over 13″ on one and under 13.4.” in the other. He was just wicketed at the ABR Come to Together Day on camera in front of a crowd at 12.4″ (which I think was too low) But, I am open to public measurements, I don’t really care.
Having the shortest dog isn’t any type of accomplishment. (Any American Bully claiming a 9-12″ dog that isn’t a shorty bull or French bulldog hybrid) would find that their measurements are way off when compared to a measurement with a REAL wicket. He will Stack Next to Any Dog Anywhere, win lose or draw. He loves friendly stacks and doesn’t get upset when you post the worst angles for your facebook friends.
Again, I didn’t make the video by Barcroft. I always keep it 100 with anyone who calls and asks him for Stud Service.
DO HIS PUPPIES SELL FOR 25K?
Absolutely not. I’d be driving a different car. I wouldn’t ever feel right having that kind of price tag on a puppy. They range on average 4-6K. The one exception of a higher-priced pup was a 6-month-old keeper (my pick female) that wasn’t initially for sale that I did sell by private treaty. (This is why they refer to his puppies as selling for 25K in the video)
WHAT’S UP WITH HIS TOE?
He broke his right toe badly as a pup. It is a non-weight-bearing digit. We fixed it, so his toe is set a little higher up and the nail is strong as shit. Stronger than the others and harder to clip. So he usually keeps a longer nail because we require a vet visit to clip it. You’ll see it in some photos, but at Shows and events, he’s freshly clipped and looking clean.
There’s no such thing as a perfect dog, and I certainly don’t claim to have one. He’s never produced it, and he’s one hell of a producer.. ask ANYONE who’s used him. His oldest productions are 8 months old but show a TON of promise. He has also produced tri in every litter but two. (Lilac, Champagne, Blue & Chocolate)
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK VENOM IS WORTH 500K?
I never claimed he was. Media companies use controversial titles for clicks and views. I was not thrilled with the title, I think it sends the wrong message. We did receive a high offer for him before he turned a year old and declined it. I don’t go around claiming to own a half a million-dollar dog, and didn’t come up with the title: Venom The $500,000 American Bully
That being said, I didn’t think Magoo would be sold for $750,000. The value of anything is what someone is willing to pay for it, and we have had some very high offers for Venom.
WHAT’S UP WITH HIS BREATHING IN THE BARCROFT VIDEO? DOES HE HAVE HEALTH ISSUES?
The Barcroft Tv Video was shot at noon in the middle of summer with a heat index of over 105 degrees out. We live in South Florida. He was asked to run several sprints in the heat of the day to get the video they wanted. The video of him breathing heavily was shot of him inside directly after the outside shots. Under any other circumstances, I would not have any bully running in that heat. He has been OFA heart and hip tested and is in the process of getting certifications for both. He has passed every test including his most recent EKG with flying colors. He has also been DNA tested and certified.
PEOPLE IN THE BULLY GAME AREN’T USED TO TRANSPARENCY
I am an open book, I post photos, videos (100s) of him without hiding flaws or hiding behind a glamor shot. You see him for what he is, take it or leave it. Yet people won’t bitch and cry about a Stud that no one has ever seen in person and has 1 photo and a video from 1987.
THE CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE USED HIM HAVE BEEN BLOWN AWAY BY THE RESPONSE WHEN THEY ANNOUNCE THE BREEDING
My customers get quality dogs and I make sure they get paid well when they use him at Stud. That’s why I have repeat business. If you’re paying 3K for a Stud, you should be getting more than that per pup when you have a litter.
His litters are sold out before hitting the ground, when someone uses him at Stud they get premium prices on their pups. Most have been blown away by the productions. Many will attest to that. WHAT MAKES HIM SO SPECIAL?
The build he carries on such a short frame. He’s the shortest and most compact Louis V son. He has an incredible head shape, a thick muscular neck, broad shoulders, and a thick powerful rear. He has an extremely short back, where a lot of the shorter bullies carrying this type of mass are in my opinion, way too long. The thing I am probably most proud of, is his productions.
