So your Bulldog peed on the carpet again? Cleaning up dog pee and getting rid of its smell is something we hate doing – but we have to in order to make our living situation better.
“Accidents” may still happen even if your Bulldog has been potty-trained. But fret not, cleaning up dog pee and getting rid of its smell isn’t that hard. There are different things you can do to get rid of the stench.
Cleaning Up Fresh Urine
If your Bulldog decided to pee on the surfaces that are easy to clean, then you are lucky as you can simply wipe the pee off and disinfect it.
But if your Bulldog decided to pee on the carpet, sofa, bed, or other soft surfaces, it could be a bit of a problem.Make sure to blot up the spot as soon as you see it. Use either towels or napkins to absorb as much pee as it can. Then, sprinkle a little bit of water and pour 1 to 3 drops of mild soap on the spot where your Bulldog peed. Then, use another towel or set of napkins to dampen the same spot and dilute the remaining amount of urine.

Remove Dog Pee Smell Using Different Solutions
Sometimes, dog pee can still linger even after you wash the spot with soap and water so using other solutions may be necessary to get rid of the smell and here are some:
Vinegar-Baking Soda Solution
The vinegar-baking soda solution is the easiest one to make. To create the mixture, you will need the following:
- White Vinegar (2 cups),
- Lukewarm Water (2 cups),
- Large Bowl,
- Baking Soda (4 tablespoons),
- And a Spray Bottle.
The first thing to do is, of course, blot up as much pee as possible. Get a large bowl and mix 2 cups of white vinegar and 2 cups of lukewarm water in it.Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda into the mixture. Make sure to do this slowly – a tablespoon at a time – on the kitchen counter or sink as mixing the baking soda with the vinegar will likely create fizz.
Once the fizzing subsides, you may now pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Then, spritz on the spot, rub the solution it, and blot it as thorough as you can. If you do not have a spray bottle, you may pour the solution directly on the pee spot, rub it a bit, and blot it dry.
Baking Soda – Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
The Baking Soda-Hydrogen Peroxide solution is another option you can use in removing dog pee smell. Hydrogen Peroxide is a well-known chemical compound that is effective in breaking down urine crystals. It is also a great stain remover.
To create the Baking Soda-Hydrogen Peroxide solution, you will need the following:
- Baking Soda (1 cup),
- 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (1/2 cup),
- Dishwashing Liquid (1 teaspoon),
- Mixing Bowl,
- Brush,
- Towels,
- Rags, Paper Towels, or Tissue.
Using towels or tissues, blot up the spot where your Bulldog urinated until there is little to no more moisture left. Next, sprinkle a large amount of baking soda over the spot.
In a bowl, mix 1 tsp of Dishwashing Liquid with half cup of Hydrogen Peroxide. Apply the mixture over the pee spot and baking soda slowly. Scrub that spot using a towel, cloth or brush. Let the mixture sit for 10 to 15 minutes.Wipe the spot dry.
