Let’s clear things out first. First of all, ringworms are not really worms. It is a fungal infection. Ringworm infections happen in humans and dogs alike no thanks to a group of fungi called dermatophytes. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a common and arguably the best carrier oil and is often mixed with other oils. Rich in anti-microbial properties, coconut oil has long been used in treating ringworm infections and other fungal diseases.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is known for its anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. It is used in a lot of different skin issues. Holistic health enthusiasts believe that tea tree oil is the most effective essential oils when it comes to battling fungal infection. Tea tree oil is potent so remember to dilute it in a carrier oil before putting it on the skin.
Licorice Root Oil

Calendula is also used for ringworm infections. This essential oil doesn’t cause irritation or pain to sensitive skin but do note that it is needed to dilute it in a carrier oil. Not only is Calendula effective in treating ringworm infection in dogs, it also promotes healing of wounds.
Aloe Vera
Technically, Aloe Vera is not an essential oil. But this plant and its extractcontain soothing properties that can help get rid of ringworm and other fungal infections. Aloe Vera can be used on inflamed skin and may be applied to the skin directly.
Prevent the Spread of Ringworm Infection
While it is easy to treat, it is still important to prevent the spread of ringworm. As soon as you find out that your Bulldog has ringworm, make sure to isolate him in one room where there is no carpet or anything where the fungi can live in. Clean your Bulldog’s bedding and using essential oils on it to kill the fungi, or simply get rid of it. Make sure to clean rugs, carpets, and furniture regularly.
